Alexander Kozlovsky
Traveler, Writer, Author of several Travel Guides, Founder of First&Near
I’VE BEEN TRAVELLING FOR OVER 15 YEARS
I'm passionate about the Middle East and Russia
Thirst for Discovery
At university, I was preparing to become an English and German translator, so I had the opportunity to travel around the US, UK and Germany as part of a student exchange programme. After graduating, however, I travelled to the Middle East — a completely new region for me.
I travelled a lot and hitchhiked, without limiting myself to noisy cities, museums and historical sights. I was looking for hidden gems in the quiet streets of old towns and remote villages, beautiful landscapes and nature. I also wanted to study the culture, the traditions and the new language. Now I am proud to have visited almost every country in the Middle East.
Inspired by my travels, I have published 2 travel books: "Iran Unforgettable" and "Iraq in Real", and I also wrote articles about Pakistan, Lebanon and Jordan. Now I am working on a book about Saudi Arabia.
People read my stories from the book, comment in forums, contact me on my website and ask me to show them the Middle East. And so I have been organizing tours for them for the last 10 years.
Return to Russia
Russia has always attracted me. Even as a student and later as an office worker, I used every holiday and every weekend to visit new cities and regions in Russia.
I have probably visited at least 150 cities of Russia.
My hobby is collecting handicrafts, and I now have a decent collection of objects from all corners of the country.
